October.06.2020

Orrick announced today that Tech Transactions advisor Sarah Schaedler has joined the firm as a partner in San Francisco. She joins from Kirkland & Ellis.

Sarah focuses on the IP and data privacy aspects of complex corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, cross-border investments, joint ventures and commercial transactions where software and technology are the principal assets. She brings significant experience advising PE funds and other clients on their investments in companies that are driven by tech & innovation, as well as IP-reliant consumer product companies. In addition, Sarah counsels clients on IP-driven growth strategies and on the collection, sharing and monetization of data. Educated in Germany, France and the U.S., she previously practiced with Hengeler Mueller in Frankfurt and London, and is qualified in Germany.

Sarah is the fourth addition to Orrick’s Tech Transactions team over the past month, following the arrivals of tech transactions advisors Colleen McDuffie in Washington, D.C., and Faraaz Samadi in London, and Life Sciences licensing advisor Shana Solomon in Boston.

“Tech and IP assets continue to drive global deal-making, and we are delighted to add Sarah to our talented team,” said Matthew Gemello, leader of Orrick’s global Corporate practice.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Orrick’s tech & innovation focused platform,” said Sarah. “It’s a forward-looking team with a robust M&A practice that is continually evolving with clients’ commercial and technology needs.”
