Applied Materials Named ACC Value Champion for Innovative Collaboration with Orrick

June.05.2020

Congratulations to Applied Materials on being honored for innovation by the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC). With the help of Orrick, Applied has created a scalable, efficient solution to evaluate and update supplier contracts. In highlighting this effort, the ACC touted "this exemplary client-firm operational collaboration involved analyzing and testing various options, and then implementing an innovative, highly-structured, bot-supported approach." The result: significantly lower costs and project completion in a fraction of the expected time.

Corporate Counsel featured the recognition, citing the collaboration between Applied and Orrick.

"Applied Materials has invested in legal operations and is committed to data-driven decision-making," Valerie Barker, senior contracts and project manager of global legal services at Applied Materials, told the publication. "The philosophy in the department is to be more than just legal support. We want to help internal clients come up with creative business solutions."

"Thank you to Valerie Craig Barker, Elizabeth McBride, Scott Fuller and the rest of the team at Applied for the privilege of collaborating with you on innovative projects that are changing the way we practice law," said Wendy Butler Curtis, Orrick’s Chief Innovation Officer.
