Orrick Named to 2019 ChIPs Honor Roll for Diversity & Inclusion Practices and Leadership

October.23.2019

Orrick is honored to be named to the 2019 ChIPs Honor Roll Awards in recognition of our efforts to promote women and diverse lawyers in leadership positions and through firmwide practices around leave, sponsorship and work allocation, among others. Orrick is one of three firms on this year’s list.

The Honor Roll Awards are based on the Diversity & Inclusion Blueprint Survey, a joint initiative between ChIPs, a nonprofit focused on advancing and connecting women in technology, law and policy, and the Diversity Lab. Designed to interrupt unconscious biases, the Blueprint survey looks beyond headcount to workplace policies that track and support inclusion initiatives.

“The most innovative work on diversity and inclusion in law today is coming out of collaborations between in-house counsel and law firms, and the Inclusion Blueprint is a shining example of this,” said Orrick Chairman Mitch Zuklie.

We’re proud that women hold 60 percent of management positions at Orrick, and 39 percent of the partners who serve in senior leadership are female or diverse. Last month, we announced our participation as a founding firm of the Move The Needle Fund – an unprecedented collaboration among law firms and corporate legal departments to improve the inclusiveness of our profession.
