July.02.2018

Orrick advised augmented reality startup RE’FLEKT on a €3.75 million corporate venture capital investment by BASF Venture Capital, the venture capital business unit of BASF Group.

BASF will be the lead investor in the Series A financing round initiated by this investment. This marks the second corporate venture capital investment in RE’FLEKT by a leading Germany industrial corporate, after the 2015 investment from Robert Bosch GmbH.

Based in Munich, RE’FLEKT is a technology company that enables any business or industry to create their own in-house augmented and mixed reality applications. With customers such as Audi, BASF, BMW, Bosch, E.ON, Hyperloop, Hyundai, Leybold, Porsche, Seepex and thyssenkrupp, the international team provides technology solutions for a wide variety of leading global companies from their locations in Munich, Düsseldorf, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

RE’FLEKT was advised by an Orrick team led by Düsseldorf-based Technology Companies Group partner Sven Greulich, who regularly advises founders and investors on financing rounds and tech exits and who has been supporting RE’FLEKT since their business formation in 2012. The team also included M&A and Private Equity associates Johannes Rüberg and Vanessa Sousa Höhl.
