Yale Law Women has long been one of the most respected surveys of family friendly law firms. This year, they expanded their survey to also look at the ten most female friendly firms, hoping “to spur a broader conversation within the legal profession about the role of gender and family in the workplace.” Orrick is honored to be named to both lists. The new list of female friendly firms focuses on firms committed to promoting women to leadership roles and prioritizing gender equity in hiring, training and mentorship. At the same time, YLW recognizes that family friendliness is not solely a women’s issue.
It is our sixth year on the family friendly list, where YLW also singled us out for our industry-leading parental leave policy and our lawyers’ use of flexible work arrangements. We’re seeing tangible results from these policies. Five members of our partner class of 2018 have taken advantage of these agile working policies.
