Orrick Announces 9th Annual Dive/In

A Day of Inclusion, Celebration and Education

On Wednesday, October 25, Orrick will host our 9th annual “Dive/In”—a worldwide celebration of the different backgrounds and cultures that constitute our global community. As part of this celebration, we are hosting diversity and inclusion events for clients and friends of the firm in six cities across the United States and in our London office—each focused on a different view of diversity:

London - Special Date: October 26, 2017
A reception and discussion featuring David Olusoga, a British Nigerian historian, writer and broadcaster. His historical subjects have focused on military history, race and slavery.

Los Angeles
A reading of the play Urban Rez, written by Larissa FastHorse, by the ensemble cast of Cornerstone Theater.

New York
An evening reception and discussion with New York Civil Liberties Union's Executive Director, Donna Lieberman.

Orange County
An office lunch featuring speakers from Homeboy Industries, the largest gang-intervention program in the United States, and a discussion about bias.

Portland
An evening reception with Quincy Heard, Founder and CEO of Summit Golf Foundation and Warner Pacific College Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach. During his tenure, he has helped hundreds of youth enter college with athletic scholarships and has a 100% success rate of high school graduation.

San Francisco
An evening discussion with Julissa Arce, a leading voice in the fight for immigrant rights and education equality and author of My (Underground) American Dream.

Washington, D.C.
A reception and tour of the "Many Voices, One Nation" exhibition at the National Museum of American History and a presentation on the importance of unity in shaping America–historically and at present.
