Orrick's D.C. Office Recognized as a Pro Bono Leader

April.24.2017

Orrick’s Washington, D.C. office has been selected by the Chief Judges of the District of Columbia federal courts as an outstanding pro bono leader.

Representatives of the law firms being recognized will join Chief Judge Merrick Garland, Chief Judge Beryl A. Howell, and other District of Columbia federal judges for the fourteenth annual 40 at 50 Judicial Pro Bono Recognition Breakfast, to be held April 27.

The event honors law firms where at least 40% of all attorneys dedicated 50 or more hours in 2016 to providing free legal representation to individuals with limited financial resources or to charitable organizations. Of the 33 firms being honored, only 11, including Orrick, had at least 50% of their attorneys giving 50 or more hours.

The recognition is the latest for Orrick, which in 2016 was named a top ten pro bono firm in the U.S. and internationally by The American Lawyer, and was also selected to The National Law Journal’s 2016 Pro Bono Hot List.
