Orrick Advises Pinterest in Latest Acquisition

Orrick has advised San Francisco-based Pinterest in its acquisition of search-engine startup Jelly Industries. Jelly is an app that enables users to ask questions and get crowdsourced replies. As part of the acquisition, Jelly CEO Biz Stone, a cofounder of Twitter and Medium, will join Pinterest as a special advisor to Pinterest cofounder and chief product officer Evan Sharp. Additionally, Jelly CTO Ben Finkel will join Pinterest's growth product team. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Orrick M&A partner Mark Seneca and associate Owen Kirshner led the Orrick acquisition team.

Led by Technology Companies Group partners Stephen Venuto and Anik Guha, Orrick has advised Pinterest extensively on corporate matters over the past five years, including multiple financings and buy-side acquisitions.
