SolarWorld to Appeal $793 Million Summary Judgment Ruling in Favor of Orrick Client Hemlock Semiconductor Corporation

On July 27, 2016, a subsidiary of SolarWorld AG announced that it would appeal from a $793 million summary judgment ruling issued by U.S. District court Judge Thomas L. Ludington in favor of Orrick client Hemlock Semiconductor Corporation. SolarWorld claims that Judge Ludington erred by failing to consider issues of EU antitrust law, but Hemlock remains confident in its ability to enforce the judgment. Orrick is representing Hemlock in the appeal before the Sixth Circuit.
