Orrick Alum William Sawyers Profiled in the San Francisco Daily Journal

The San Francisco Daily Journal recently interviewed Orrick alum William Sawyers, who serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Del Monte Foods. William was a partner in Orrick’s Corporate practice in our San Francisco office from 2001 to 2005.

In discussing the challenges of being a GC in today’s complex regulatory landscape, William notes the firms he relies on for outside help, giving Orrick a shout-out by citing our IP team’s “nice victory” for the company in a recent domain name dispute in the 9^th Circuit. He also talks about how his private practice at Orrick differed from his current in-house role, noting the diversity of industries that he served when at Orrick.
