Orrick’s Paris team recently advised long-time client Teads on its acquisition of Brainient, one of the leading ad-tech companies in Europe.
Teads, founded in 2011, is the inventor of native video advertising and the leading “outstream” video marketplace (video ads that reside outside of video content). Orrick advised Teads on its €24 million financing operation in 2014. We also advised Teads on its earlier merger with Ebuzzing.
Brainient is a UK and Romania-based interactive video ad start-up that empowers media owners, agencies and brands with data-driven creative technology for building interactive ads across video, mobile, display and TV.
With the purchase of Brainient, Teads will incorporate interactive video technology, as well as additional tools to personalize and target video ads. Brainient will be rebranded as Teads Studio and will operate as an independent business unit as part of Teads.
