Orrick’s Washington, D.C. associates and staff more than doubled their contribution to Legal Aid’s Generous Associates Campaign this year, contributing to a record breaking fundraising season for the organization.
Raising $51,730, Orrick led the 51-100 attorney category in the annual summer Legal Aid campaign, and ranked #6 among all firms in D.C.
“It was heartening to see our team more than double our fundraising from last year,” said Jeremy Peterman, who led this year’s fundraising campaign for Orrick. “Associates increased their giving by over 300%, and the partners were incredibly supportive of our efforts, doubling their contributions from previous years. It underscores our commitment to the community at all levels of our firm.”
Legal Aid raised $1,475,000, exceeding their goal by $75,000. The amount raised in 2016 represents approximately one quarter of Legal Aid’s annual budget. According to the National Law Journal this represents a steady increase in funds raised over the past few years and an 8 percent jump from the $1.36 million raised last year.
