Orrick Mourns the Loss of Our Partner Véronique Roualet

February.26.2016

The Orrick community mourns the loss of our partner, colleague and friend Véronique Roualet, who passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

One of the founders of our Paris office, Véronique was a skilled corporate advisor who drew on her deep knowledge of the law to develop practical solutions to commercial problems. Longtime clients such as Renault, Dassault, Mitsubishi Chemical, Eutelsat, Acer and many others depended on her time and again. She was especially skilled at managing complex international projects.

Originally from Epernay in the Champagne region of France, Véronique left as a young woman to study law at the College of Europe at Bruges, Belgium. She was an accomplished and devoted sportswoman with a passion and talent for equestrianism, and in particular, dressage where she was known for her 'good eye' for spotting future champions. She also will be fondly remembered for her love of music and literature.

Véronique leaves behind a young daughter Maya, whom she adopted as a baby from Kazakhstan with her husband Pierre.

As our Paris office grew over the years, Véronique welcomed each new talent into the fabric of our firm. She had an elegance, a warmth, an integrity and a sense of humor that we will always remember. She was an ambassador for Orrick – and she will be deeply missed in Paris, across Europe and worldwide.
