Orrick Bolsters Real Estate Capability in Düsseldorf to Support Energy & Infrastructure and M&A Teams

Orrick announces that Dr. Hans Felix Schäfer has joined the firm’s Düsseldorf office to provide real estate support for Corporate/M&A and Energy & Infrastructure transactions. Dr. Schäfer brings more than 12 years of experience in the real estate sector, both in-house and in private practice. The 40-year-old real estate lawyer will work closely with Orrick’s Energy & Infrastructure and M&A/Corporate teams and will focus on advising corporate clients and funds in connection with energy & infrastructure projects and real estate portfolio transactions.

Dr. Schäfer has particular experience in the infrastructure and logistics sectors, where he focuses on real estate transactions, structuring of real estate investments, fund counseling and private equity, as well as restructuring of real estate financings. He has also advised on a series of large-scale projects as well as portfolio transactions for German and international clients.

Dr. Schäfer previously practiced with international law firms Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and DLA Piper and served as in-house counsel with ProLogis Germany Management GmbH. Most recently, he was an associated partner with independent German law firm Graf von Westphalen.
