Registration for Veterans' Legal Career Fair Now Open Online

February.11.2015

Registration for the Veterans’ Legal Career Fair is now open online for both candidates and employers. This is the first career fair to be held specifically for experienced lawyers who have served in the U.S. military or are transitioning out of military service. Set to take place on May 1-2, 2015 in Washington, D.C., it will include panel presentations, a networking reception and a full day of one-on-one interviews.

Any lawyer who has served, or is currently serving, in any branch of the United States Armed Services or Reserves in any capacity can register to attend the event. Military spouses who are lawyers are also eligible to participate. Using an online system, candidates can submit resumes, review postings and identify positions of interest, while employers will be able to screen interested candidates and schedule interviews.

The goal of the Veterans’ Legal Career Fair is to help veterans find jobs and to help top employers gain access to a pool of first-rate candidates who have received unique training, skills and legal insights through their military service. Orrick is honored to partner with The American Legion; corporate founding sponsors Microsoft Corporation, Morgan Stanley and ALM Media; and private practice sponsors Shearman & Sterling and the D.C. Diverse Partners Network, as well as early employer registrant DLA Piper, to create this event.

Employers are encouraged to register by March 13, 2015, while candidates are encouraged to register by March 27, 2015. For more information and to register, please visit www.veteranslegalcareerfair.com.
