London – Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe has advised GMO GlobalSign, the security division of the Tokyo-based GMO Internet Group and a leading provider of identity services for online transactions, on its acquisition of Helsinki-based Ubisecure Solutions, Inc., a privately-held identity and access management software developer.
The acquisition delivers essential technology and talent to propel GlobalSign’s strategic focus on identity services for the rapidly emerging, $14.4 trillion Internet of Everything market, where the ability to make secure networked connections among people, processes, data and things, will require that everything have a trusted identity.
The transaction closed in October 2014. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Orrick team was led by corporate partner Jinal Shah and included technology companies associate Catriona Brown and trainee Katrina Murphy.
