​Through the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County, Silicon Valley managing intellectual property associate Kieran Kieckhefer, San Francisco senior mass torts and products liability associate Thomas Harvey and Silicon Valley intellectual property associate Sophie Yu, supervised by Silicon Valley intellectual property partner Chris Ottenweller, and supported by senior intellectual property legal assistant Amy Sternad, are representing a father in a four-day custody trial.
Though a very difficult case, the father has support for his retaining custody as set forth in a report from a social worker from the Department of Family and Children’s Services (“CPS”) in Santa Clara and a social worker with San Mateo Family Court Services. Santa Clara CPS took the 6 year old boy away from mom and placed him with the prospective client. The reports set forth Mom’s long history of substance abuse and child abuse/neglect.
