Silicon Valley employment law partner Lynne Hermle was named to the Daily Journal's "Top Women Lawyers" 2012 list. This annual list recognizes women for achieving victories in important cases and distinguishing themselves as leaders in their practice areas.

When it comes to trials, Lynne Hermle is a problem solver, which is why her clients come to her, she said.

"I think about how to kill off a meritless case without going through three years of disruptive discovery," she said.

That's the kind of attitude she brought to representing a multinational computer security software company when it was sued in 2009 by its former general counsel, Kent H. Roberts, who claimed the company made him a scapegoat in a stock options backdating scandal that got him fired in 2006.

Roberts settled with the multinational computer security software company in February 2012, paying $17,940 in attorney fees and agreeing to make a $100,000 contribution to a charity.
