Law360 Names Orrick “Project Finance Group of the Year” and Mark Weitzel Energy MVP

Law360 has named Orrick Project Finance Group of the Year and has named Mark Weitzel its Energy MVP.

In selecting Orrick, Law360 noted the firm “secured billions of dollars in public and private financing for clients over the past 12 months” and cites significant transactions including a “landmark solar energy project,” thermal power projects and the “rebuilding of Japan’s energy infrastructure in the wake of the devastating earthquakes and tsunamis in 2011.”  Law360 also cited the global reach of the Orrick’s practice.

Law360 commended Weitzel for a series of transactions, including a market-shaping acquisition that created one of the largest landfill gas-to-energy companies in the United States and a $2.2 billion in financing of a “landmark solar energy project in California’s Mojave Desert.”
