Nick: Whenever you're picking a law firm, a lot of focus goes on the attorney that you work with. But one of the things that surprised me most about Orrick was just how talented the rest of the team at Orrick really is. A lot the projects I'm most proud of involve a collaboration with team members within our innovation group, our technology group, and even our project attorney group.
My name is Nick Farnsworth, and I help companies develop legal strategies relating to data and technology.
One of the things that I really enjoy about my job is my opportunity to build technology solutions myself. One of the ones that I'm most proud of is the development of our Artificial Intelligence Law Center. The Law Center was designed to help our clients receive the information they needed on the intersection between artificial intelligence and the law quickly and in a way that really focused only on the most impactful information. The idea behind it was really to cut through the noise and provide something that our clients could use on a day-to-day basis to really operationalize their artificial intelligence initiatives.
One of the things that really stood out to me when I first joined was the opportunities that younger associates have to really get at-bats early in their career and get ownership over different matters. Orrick really emphasizes learning by doing and having the opportunity to try new things in a safe place where failing is ultimately okay, but you have the opportunity to try and stretch your legs as far as you can.
