Innovation Meets Regulation — The Biden Cryptocurrency Executive Order

59 minute watch | April.06.2022

President Biden issued an executive order in March that articulated broad policy goals for the use and regulation of cryptocurrency, but the order offered few specifics and did little to resolve hot speculation about future regulation of digital assets.

Orrick attorneys Jerry Buckley, Jeff HydrickKaty Ryan, along with guest, V. Gerard Comizio, Professor at American University Washington College of Law and author of "Virtual Currency Law: The Emerging Legal and Regulatory Framework" discussed what the executive order might mean for existing cryptocurrencies, when to expect greater clarification of their regulatory status, what consumer protections might look like, and state regulatory efforts.

Webinar filmed prior to the combination of Buckley and Orrick in 2023.
