Marshall Grossman Discusses Lawsuits Filed in Wake of Sony Hack

Los Angeles Times | December.17.2014

Commercial litigation partner Marshall Grossman recently spoke with the Los Angeles Times about two suits that have been filed against Sony Pictures Entertainment by former Sony employees. Both suits allege that Sony was negligent in securing its computer systems and protecting its employees’ personal data prior to a recent cyberattack on the company.

After reviewing one of the suits, Mr. Grossman described it as a publicity ploy, stating, “The complaint appears to be a hodgepodge of snap judgments and speculation of various third parties.”

"At difficult times like this, our focus should be on easing the pain of Sony and others who are the victims of terrorist attacks instead of piling on,” he said, adding, "I don't see these former employees or their lawyers boarding a flight to North Korea any time soon to take depositions."
