Treasury Releases Final Tech-Neutral Tax Credit Regulations

The U.S. Department of the Treasury continues to burn the midnight oil, issuing final regulations on January 7 concerning the tech-neutral credits under Sections 45Y and 48E of the Code.

As expected, the final regulations closely follow the proposed regulations issued in June 2024. The final rules include important clarifications and provide new details for market participants aiming to maximize the availability of these valuable federal benefits. They are scheduled to be effective on January 15.
