Will joined Orrick in late 2001 as Director of Operations and served as an integral member of the management team that created the Global Operations Center (GOC), a first of a kind U.S. law firm insourcing facility, in 2002. Today, he is responsible for managing and sustaining operations, growth and employee engagement.
Will also has firmwide responsibility for managing several of the firm’s operational relationships, including Williams Lea and AMEX, and serves as Director of the Firm’s Community Responsibility Programs.
Prior to joining Orrick, Will was the City Manager of Wheeling, West Virginia, for four years and the Assistant City Manager for four years prior to promotion to City Manager. He also served as the County Administrator for Hancock County, West Virginia, from 1989 to 1993.
Will is a graduate of West Liberty State College with a BS in Political Science and holds a MPA degree in Public Administration from West Virginia University.
He is married to Tracey (Nichols) and has two children, Nicholas, age 26 and Anna, age 20.

Two Orrick teams raised more than $10,000 for Soles4Souls, a nonprofit fighting global poverty.
Bay Area – California Coastal Cleanup Day
Our Bay Area offices—along with families, clients and the Orrick leadership team—partnered with the California Coastal Commission to clean up Ocean Beach.
Wheeling – Scavenger Hunt
Our GOC was central to the inaugural Challenge Wheeling Scavenger Hunt, an urban exploration event to benefit the Ohio Valley nonprofit Youth Services System.
Paris – La Parisienne
Düsseldorf – Herzlauf Hilden Children's Hospice Run
In 2015, nearly €25,000 was raised to help the hospice's pediatric patients and their families.
LA – Regional Food Bank
Our LA team collected 510 pounds of canned goods and assembled food packages for the LA Regional Food Bank.
Hong Kong – WWF's Walk for Nature
Our Hong Kong team participated in the World Wildlife Fund’s Walk for Nature, an annual fund-raising event held in Hong Kong's Mai Po Nature Reserve.
Sacramento – Habitat for Humanity
Our Habitat construction crew completed a two-weekend build. The team installed windows, painted and helped with a variety of other projects.
Washington, D.C. – Hands on DC
Orrick volunteers joined Hands On DC to help clean up a local elementary school. The team spent the day landscaping, cleaning and painting.
Silicon Valley – Ronald McDonald House
Our SV office helped provide a sense of "home away from home" for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House, helping to feed 85 families.
Wheeling - Mini Golf Food Drive
The GOC was transformed into a mini golf course to benefit local food banks. The unique food drive yielded more than 4,000 donations.
