Chimène Faurant is a partner in the Paris office specializing in antitrust & competition law.

Chimène advises French and international clients on all aspects of antitrust & competition law.

She has extensive experience in competition investigations, litigation concerning anti-competitive practices (cartels and abuse of dominant position), merger control, state aid law and foreign subsidy control.

Chimène specializes in the energy, infrastructure, industry, regulated professions, transport, agri-food and distribution sectors.

Prior to joining Orrick, Chimène worked for a leading French law firm, and before that for a prestigious Magic Circle firm.

    • Florac Investments in the context of the sale of its portfolio company Delcourt Group, specialists in comic-book publishing, to Editis, and the filing and notification of the transaction to the French Competition Authority (FCA).*
    • RATP Smart System in the context of the filing to the FCA of its joint venture project with TotalEnergies to develop and market, to public and private sector companies, an employee commuting management service. This was the first time that the FCA had to define the market for the provision of payment and management solutions for commuting costs.*
    • CMA-CGM and Bolloré Group in the context of the acquisition by CMA-CGM of Bolloré Logistics. Assisting both group companies during the pre-closing and integration period to ensure compliance with merger control rules (standstill obligation) and avoiding any gun jumping issues.*
    • Sonepar in proceedings brought by the FCA into allegations of a vertical price agreement between two manufacturers and two distributors of electrical equipment.*
    • ADSN Group and its subsidiary ADNOV, a major operator active in the notarial services sector, in the context of an investigation conducted by the FCA into alleged abuses of dominant position in the notarial services sector.*
    • ArcelorMittal France, on securing the EU Commission approval of €850 million investment aid to support its project aimed at decarbonizing its steel production process in Dunkirk. The aid was authorized under the 2022 Guidelines on State aid for climate, environmental protection and energy (“CEEAG”).*
    • Various companies (Arkema, McPhy, Gen-Hy Cube, etc.) in connection with notification procedures for investment aid granted by France as part of various Major Joint European Interest Projects (PIIECs) aimed at supporting research and innovation in the battery and hydrogen value chains.*
    • TotalEnergies on various State aid and competition law issues arising from the installation and operation of a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) for liquefied natural gas (LNG) located in the port of Le Havre.*
    • EDF Renewables in connection with the notification and authorization by the European Commission of aid measures for the group's first floating wind farm pilot project (“Provence Grand Large” project).*
