Lauren Goldsmith is a Senior Associate in Orrick’s Employment Law and Litigation Group. She advises leading technology and financial services companies on employment class actions, government investigations and enforcement actions, and other high-stakes workplace matters.
Lauren has helped defeat class certification in several recent cases involving claims of systemic discrimination. She also represents companies facing agency charges and investigations, conducts sensitive internal investigations, and advises on emerging workplace issues, including AI in employment decisions.
Clients turn to Lauren when the stakes are high, the facts are messy, or the usual approach isn’t working. Drawing on her experience across employment and complex commercial litigation, she sees problems from different angles and finds practical ways forward. She brings clarity to difficult situations and makes even the most challenging matters feel manageable.
Before joining Orrick, Lauren spent more than seven years at Sullivan & Cromwell handling complex commercial and employment disputes. She also maintained an active pro bono practice focused on reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and immigration matters.
