“As the U.S energy sector continues to face evolutionary pressure to address carbon intensity, sustainability and security of supply, we’re thrilled to add a partner of David’s talent and perspective to our team. His deep experience and relationships across the oil & gas value chain, paired with Orrick’s breadth of practice in conventional and renewable energy, reinforces our commitment to serving clients at the leading edge of the energy transition, a strategic focus area for the firm,” said Blake H. Winburne, Orrick’s Energy & Infrastructure sector leader.
David’s experience includes upstream, midstream and downstream M&A transactions, involving conventional and unconventional plays, as well as alternative fuels and other emerging asset classes. He regularly acts for private equity and infrastructure investors, as well as majors and mid-majors, on complex joint ventures and operating agreements.
“Orrick has a stellar energy, tech and finance platform that is an ideal fit for my practice today and for where markets are heading in the future. Joining a team that has Orrick’s depth of resources associated with energy transition positions me incredibly well to serve a market that is undergoing a historic moment of change,” added David.
David follows the arrivals this year of energy finance advisors Jeff Kayes and Adam Griffin from Baker Botts, corporate PPA advisor Teresa Hill from K&L Gates and project development advisor Julia Balas from Morrison & Foerster.
Orrick’s U.S. renewable energy practice is ranked Band 1 by Chambers. The firms ranks #3 for renewables globally by Inframation.
