Orrick Advises Lawrence Investments on $345 Million Purchase of Hyatt Lake Tahoe Resort

Orrick advised Lawrence Investments, an investment firm owned by Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, on the $345 million acquisition of the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino in Nevada. This waterfront hotel is nestled into the Sierra Nevada mountains and comprises 422 rooms. The property also includes the Grand Lodge Casino, the Stillwater Spa and Salon and private beaches. The seller of the resort was Hyatt, and this complex deal included, among other things, the negotiation of the purchase and sale agreement, a 50-year hotel management agreement with Hyatt and a technical services agreement.
