The Daily Journal has named two Orrick partners, Jared Bobrow and Rob Shwarts, to its list of 2019 Top Intellectual Property Lawyers in California.
In profiles published today, Jared, co-leader of the firm’s global IP practice, is recognized for his string of successes in patent litigation on behalf of a Global Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and the growth of Orrick’s IP team since he joined last year. Jared also was on the Daily Journal’s list of top IP lawyers in 2018. “The group is tremendously busy,” Jared told the Daily Journal. “Our hours, our production, all of those have grown significantly since (last spring).”
Rob, who chairs Orrick’s global trade secrets practice, is recognized for his major win in the ITC last year on behalf of Advanced Technology & Materials and four other Chinese companies accused of trade secrets violations. Rob led a cross-office team that secured dismissal of the ITC action. Japan’s Hitachi Metals brought the action, but agreed to a rare voluntary dismissal after confronting our team’s arguments in the ITC. “It happens rarely, which is why it’s such a big deal,” Rob told the publication.
