Orrick’s London-based partner Jamie Moore will be leading a discussion on September 8th as part of the Barclays ‘Global Connect: Raising in Silicon Valley’ programme aimed at pre-Series A start-ups looking to embark on their first round of funding.

The month-long programme kicks off on September 7th and aims to connect high-growth UK start-ups with US-based experts and investors who are dedicating their time to help businesses grow and scale.

Jamie’s session, collaborating with Chris Neumann from Commonwealth Ventures, around “US vs UK Fundraising: SEIS, SAFE and Everything In-Between” will cover the differences between UK and US investment vehicles, terms and structures; the pitfalls to look out for when moving to the US; interesting themes from both sides of the Atlantic; the future landscape for European VC; and more.

Jamie acts for both early and late stage companies in intellectual property rich sectors and those who invest in them, including some of the most active venture capital funds, corporate or individual investors. He has deep knowledge of disruptive technologies, innovation, entrepreneurial business and market trends, which he leverages to provide clear and concise advice on a range of corporate issues taking high growth technology companies from start-up through to exit.
