She has represented parties in arbitrations held under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution and the American Arbitration Association, as well as non-administered arbitrations conducted under UNCITRAL and other rules. Ayanna has represented clients from a wide range of industries involved in disputes concerning international investments, licensing, and other contract disputes.
•Ayanna represented a major European telecommunications concern in connection with disputes arising out of various agreements to which her client is party. Ayanna has represented Orrick's client in federal court and in three UNCITRAL arbitrations.
•Ayanna represented a Japanese electronics manufacturer in a dispute concerning the license of standard-essential patents, before the ICDR.
•Ayanna represented a U.S. investor in an ad hoc proceeding against the Commonwealth of Dominica arising out of the expropriation of the local electric utility.
•Ayanna represented a U.S. pulp manufacturer in a contract dispute with a U.S. paper manufacturer, before the ICC.
•Ayanna also represented Wyeth in an arbitration conducted in Bermuda arising out of mass torts involving Norplant.
•Ayanna represented a mining company in insurance coverage disputes arising out of mass torts. The disputes were heard in multiple states courts and in an arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association.
•Ayanna represented a cryptocurrency investor in a dispute under a SAFT.
•Ayanna also regularly advises clients who are drafting and negotiating the terms of contract dispute resolution provisions.
General Commercial Matters
•Ayanna represented a shipping concern in connection with Chapter 15 proceedings brought in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
•Ayanna represented Oracle America Inc. in the retrial of its copyright claims against Google Inc.
•Ayanna represented Dish Network in litigation that was originally adverse to the four major broadcast television networks. The matter initially involved two actions, one in the Southern District of New York and the other in the Central District of California. The cases implicated important and far-reaching copyright issues related to Digital Video Recorder technology and have received intense media coverage. Law360 named the litigation among its "Cases to Watch" for 2013.
•In federal court, Ayanna represented a retailer in a commercial dispute against its lenders and suppliers.
•In state court, Ayanna represented a German bank in connection with a suit brought by a former employee.Text
