Michael Davey is a lawyer in Orrick’s New York office and a member of the Energy and Infrastructure Group.

His practice focuses on the representation of sponsors, borrowers, issuers, developers, lenders, investors, other financial institutions and governmental entities in complex project finance and acquisition finance transactions involving bank debt, bond issuances and tax equity investments.

Michael’s experience spans wind, natural gas and road transportation sectors and projects in North America and Africa, and includes award-winning transactions.

    • TerraForm Power in its acquisition of 930 MW of wind power capacity in the U.S. and Canada from Invenergy Wind. (2015)
    • IFM Investors Pty Ltd in its US$5.72 billion acquisition of 100% of the membership interests of ITR Concession Company, the operator of the Indiana Toll Road, from Statewide Mobility Partners, a Cintra/Macquarie joint venture (Project Finance International 2015 “Americas Transport Deal of the Year”, as well as The M&A Advisor's 2015 "Distressed Deal of the Year (Over $1B)" and "M&A Deal of the Year (Over $5B)").
    • A U.S. lender in a US$42 million secured loan facility to a private equity fund targeting investment opportunities in India. (2015)
    • Energy Investors Funds and Oregon Clean Energy, LLC in the development and financing of the Oregon Clean Energy Center, an 869 MW natural gas-fired electric power plant being built in the City of Oregon, Ohio (IJGlobal 2014 “North American Single-Asset Power Deal of the Year”).
    • A U.S. lender in a US$72 million secured loan facility to borrowers located in five countries in Africa and the Middle East for the development and operation of telecommunications infrastructure.
