Elisabeth (Lis) has extensive experience in energy regulation, M&A, derivatives, structured trading and commercial issues in the energy sector.

Lis has advised project developers, multinational energy and utility companies, investment banks, commodities trading houses, hedge funds and governments.

She has spent several extended periods on secondment to in-house legal departments in the energy sector. Lis has particular experience in the regulation, operation and optimisation of energy assets in the gas, renewables, power and nuclear sectors and Legal 500 UK describes her as a "key advisor" on "energy trading and regulatory matters."

  • Lis's experience includes:

    • Advised Energetický a Průmyslový Holding in relation to the acquisition and conversion of the 420MW Lynemouth coal fired power station in Northumberland, UK, including implementation of its Investment Contract and grid interfaces.
    • Advised the Bioenergy Infrastructure Group on its investment in a £200m, 25MW Refuse Derived Fuel gasification facility and pre-treatment plant in Hull, East Yorkshire and on a refinancing of its UK operating assets.
    • Advised a sponsor in relation to the financing and development of a Refuse Derived Fuel gasification facility in Burton upon Trent, UK.
    • Advised BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Limited (Renewable Power Group) in the €40 million acquisition and €310 million debt financing of Tellenes Vindpark AS, including negotiating a ground breaking PPA with Google. The Tellenes project, once fully operational, will be the largest wind farm in Norway, with an expected annual production of more than 500 GWh.
    • Advised a consortium of lenders in relation to the financing and development of an onshore wind farm in Mongolia.
    • Advised EnergieKontor on its acquisitions of Lilbourne Wind Farm and New Rides Wind Farm, both situated in the UK.
    • Advised NextEnergy Solar Holdings Ltd on its acquisition of numerous UK-based solar projects.
    • Advised Canadian Solar on its acquisition of numerous UK-based solar projects.
    • Advised Bluefield Solar Income Fund on its acquisition of numerous UK-based solar projects.
    • Advised MEAG MUNICH ERGO Asset Management GmbH on its acquisition of a large solar project owned by BayWa GmbH.  
    • Advised Gottex in relation to its investment in and management of various European renewable energy projects.
    • Advised the Shah Deniz consortium on the financing and development of the Shah Deniz Phase 2 project in Azerbaijan and pipeline systems to Italy, including negotiating the gas transportation contracts with Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) and obtaining TPA exemption from the EU.
