Marc Bauer, a partner in the Los Angeles office, is a member of the Public Finance Department.

Marc has represented issuer and underwriter clients in transactions involving both long- and short-term, fixed and variable rate obligations, commercial paper, credit and liquidity enhancement, and revenue bonds. He has experience with financings involving cities, counties, public power agencies, school districts, and both private and charter schools. In addition, Marc’s practice includes the representation of governmental and private sector clients in post-issuance examinations by the Internal Revenue Service.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Marc was an economics consultant at Deloitte & Touche LLP and Arthur Andersen LLP.

  • Marc's representative transactions include the following.

    • Lead associate on the bond and disclosure counsel teams for the Department of Water and Power of the City of Los Angeles (LADWP) in the issuance of its Power System Bonds, including Build America Bonds, tax-exempt obligations, Qualified Energy Conservation Bonds, and Clean Renewable Energy Bonds.
    • Lead associate on the bond counsel teams for several issuances of revenue bonds by the California Educational Facilities Authority on behalf of several institutions including the California Institute of Technology, Loyola Marymount University, Santa Clara University, and Art Center College of Design.
    • Lead associate on the bond counsel teams for several issuances of revenue bonds by the California School Finance Authority on behalf of several public charter schools, including the issuance of its $12,000,000 Educational Facilities Revenue Bonds (High Tech High Chula Vista K-8 Project), Series 2010, Qualified School Construction Bonds, which received recognition as the Far West Finalist for the Bond Buyer Deal of the Year.
    • Lead associate on the bond and disclosure counsel teams for the Pasadena Public Financing Authority Lease Revenue Bonds, Series 2010, which financed the much anticipated Rose Bowl Renovation Project.

     

    In addition to the above, Marc assists clients of the HIV & AIDS Legal Services Alliance with their testamentary documents on a pro bono basis.
