Larisa Afanasyeva, a lawyer in the Moscow office, is a member of the European Corporate Group.

Larisa also has a prior experience in handling international arbitrations in International Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Court, Zurich Chamber of Commerce, Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and International Commercial Arbitration Court of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Larisa has international trade expertise in areas such as compliance and investigations. She has advised clients on FCPA issues as well as economic sanctions relating to Russia.

Before joining the firm, Larisa was a member of Coudert Brothers’ Global Corporate & Commercial Practice in Washington, D.C., and Moscow.

    • Advised The Property Fund of the Russian Federation in its $750 million sale of 5.6 percent of the shares of OAO "LUKOIL" in a global offering of GDRs, accompanied by a listing of the GRDs on the London Stock Exchange.
    • Advised The Property Fund of the Russian Federation on the $1.86 billion sale of Slavneft.
    • Advised Novorossyisk Commercial Sea Port in a number of transactions, including Eurobonds project; the acquisition of a group of stevedore companies; construction of grain terminal; construction of a diesel terminal; and others.
    • Advised Russian developers in financing of the construction of the warehousing complexes by European Bank for reconstruction and Development, International Finance Corporation and Black Sea Trade and Development Bank.
    • Advised LUKOIL in engineering and construction of a major off shore drilling project on the Caspian Sea.
    • Advised a major Russian publishing group in various projects related to acquisition of assets and restructuring.
    • Advised Imperial Sugar Company in its acquisition of two major sugar plants and several agro companies in southern regions of Russia.
    • Advised international financial institutions, such as EBRD, in connection with acquisition of equity stakes and financing of Russian projects.
