Matthew Pearce is a real estate lawyer based in Orrick's London office with a particular focus on renewable energy projects.

He has advised on projects ranging from the acquisition and refinancing of solar farms and biomass power plants, through to office and industrial developments and retail and healthcare portfolio acquisitions and disposals.

Matthew has a wide experience of real estate law and during his career has worked both in private practice and as in-house counsel.

    • Advised a supermarket development valued at £40m.
    • Advised as in-house counsel on all aspects of landlord and tenant law relating to its retail portfolio and on acquisitions and disposals.
    • Advised on a £300m refinance of an office development in Manchester.
    • Advised on a £200m office development in the City of London.
    • Advised both Stripe and Goodwater Capital on a $93 million Series D financing round in Monzo.
    • Advised BlackRock Renewable Power Group on the acquisition of a 156MW levered portfolio of operational solar assets in the UK from Lightsource.
    • Advised Bioenergy Infrastructure Group in its acquisition of a portfolio of 20 assets from the UK’s Green Investment Bank.
