Kentaro’s practice focuses on the development and financing of various energy projects, representing domestic and international sponsors and developers.

He mainly works on project contracts, including EPC, BOP and O&M contracts. He acquired of great understanding of clients’ needs after a secondment at a Japanese major trading house in 2013 and 2014.

Prior to joining Orrick’s Tokyo Office, Kentaro worked in the Tokyo office of another international law firm where he engaged in cross-border M&A, finance transactions and dispute resolution.

    • Setouchi Future Creations LLC, a special purpose company consisting of GE Energy Financial Services, Toyo Engineering and Kuni Umi Asset Management, in securing $1.1 billion debt and equity financing for Japan’s largest solar facility (231 MW).
    • Multinational companies in the development and construction of various renewable energy projects portfolio in Japan including PV and wind projects, as well as financing through project finance.
    • A leading hard drive manufacturer in its $4.8 billion acquisition of a Japanese hard disk drive manufacturer.
    • A Japan-based online game company in its acquisition of various online game contents companies.
