Orrick has been named one of Fortune’s 50 Best Workplaces for Parents for the second year in a row, highlighting our groundbreaking parental leave program – one of the most generous in the profession - and our ongoing support of flexible work arrangement options.
This year, we announced several enhancements to the ways we support lawyers and staff who are parents. We introduced Guardrails to our onramping program, so that new parents can have the option of working predictable hours up to a maximum of six hours daily during the first month after returning from primary caregiver leave and the first two weeks after non-primary caregiver leave. We also increased our non-primary caregiver leave benefits and introduced contributions to a college fund for all new babies of lawyers and staff.
This ranking from Fortune adds to the recent recognition we have received for our commitment to being one of the best places to work. Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers named us one of the “50 Best Law Firms for Women” for the ninth year in a row, while Yale Law Women named us one of the Top Ten Family Friendly U.S. Law Firms for the fifth time. In addition, Fortune named Orrick one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For, 100 Best Workplaces for Women and 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials.
