Deutsch: Orrick stellt neuen Silicon Valley Europe Desk für Europäische Wachstumsunternehmen vor und unterstützt Deep Tech Summit

Orrick this week is sponsoring the Deep Tech Summit, an initiative of the Tech Tour and the International Venture Club highlighting the investment climate in Europe’s digital industry. The two-day summit, which Orrick’s London office is hosting this Wednesday, features 25 deep tech growth company presentations by CEOs, discussion panels, keynotes and top-level networking among the "who's who" of the deep tech and venture capital markets.

Orrick’s leading global tech advisers are participating in the event, including Paris-based senior counsel Olivier Edwards, who is holding a master class for CEOs, and London-based partner Shawn Atkinson, who is moderating a panel on investment trends in deep tech. Chris Grew, a partner at Orrick and a top adviser in London on cross-border transactions for the tech industry, is opening the summit with welcoming remarks.

In conjunction with the summit, Orrick is announcing the launch of its new Silicon Valley Europe Desk, the latest platform for our Technology Companies Group to better serve the trans-Atlantic tech and venture capital markets. The desk, chaired by partner Matteo Daste in our Bay Area offices and Olivier Edwards, will augment our growing focus on advising European companies that seek to connect with the Bay Area capital and M&A markets and establish hubs in the area. This focus includes our recent publication of Go West, a guide that helps German tech companies understand and navigate the U.S. markets. The desk will also serve U.S. tech companies that want to expand into the European market.

“The establishment of this desk formalizes the work we already do in advising some of the most innovative companies in the world,” said Olivier. “With our firm’s focus on the tech sector from 25 offices worldwide, we’ve always bridged Europe and Silicon Valley.”

Olivier and Matteo recently led Orrick’s collaboration with Mind the Bridge and Crunchbase in the release of “Startup M&A Report 2017,” which detailed the fast-growing global M&A market and trends showing the U.S. and Europe controlling the majority of deals and capital – much of it centered on Silicon Valley and the UK, Germany and France. Orrick’s new desk expands connections between European startups and Silicon Valley investors, furthering the firm’s innovative work for startups globally. Orrick’s Total Access program offers a range of tools for emerging companies, and Orrick was recently honored as a standout by Financial Times in its 2017 Innovative Lawyer awards in Europe for bridging startups in Europe with U.S. investors.

Orrick counsels more than 1,600 high growth companies and 100 VC firms globally, and is ranked by PitchBook as the most active firm in the VC space in Europe. The firm was recognized as Service Provider of the Year in 2017 by Investor AllStars, the “Oscars” of the European entrepreneurial and investor community.
