Capzanine Partners With Eurazeo and AXA to Support SME Development in France

Orrick Rambaud Martel has advised on Eurazeo and AXA France’s joint capital investment into French investment fund Capzanine – an unprecedented transaction in France. Through the deal, Eurazeo and AXA France have each acquired a 22% stake in Capzanine’s capital (Capzanine management holds the remainder). In addition, Eurazeo and AXA France have committed to a joint investment of €380 million in the next two fund-raising efforts planned for 2016.

 
Capzanine’s association with Eurazeo and AXA France, both major institutional players, will allow the company to accelerate the development of its debt and equity business segments, build international partnerships and continue its international expansion. The transaction has obtained the AMF’s approval.
 
Capzanine is one of the leading French players in the mixed capital and private debt investment sector, providing unlisted French SMEs and SMIs with financing up to €120 million for development projects and transmission transactions. Capzanine manages over €1.1 billion in assets spread over three funds and one mandate and has realized more than 70 SME financing transactions since its creation.
