Financial Times has named Orrick’s Pascal Agboyibor one of the ten most innovative lawyers in Europe in 2014. As FT reported: “...it was his work on helping to build African institutions and combating corruption that aroused particular admiration. The judges commented on how important this work was if Africa was to develop its clear economic potential.”
FT highlights Mr. Agboyibor’s contributions to securing financing on dozens of projects, including: the Grand Inga power project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which will be one of the world’s largest hydroelectric dams, and representation of Gécamines as joint-venture partner in connection with Jinchuan’s $1.36 billion offer for the mining group Metorex. Mr. Agboyibor is also cited for his contributions to the development of a system of business laws in West and Central Africa known as L'Organisation pour l'Harmonisation en Afrique du Droit des Affaires (OHADA).
