Alexis Marraud des Grottes


Alexis Marraud des Grottes is an M&A and Capital Markets lawyer in Orrick’s Paris office. His practice covers both transactional and litigation advice on mergers and acquisitions, securities and stock exchange regulations and corporate law.

Recommended by Legal 500 EMEA in Mergers & Acquisitions, Alexis is a key counsel to French and international listed and non-listed companies, commercial and investment banks, private equity and hedge funds and their managers, and families. He has notable experience on complex cross-border transactions and was involved on some of the most publicized deals in France recently. His works includes, for instance, advising L’Oréal on a €6 billion share buyback from Swiss-based Nestlé, Metrovacesa sale of its €1.5 billion stake in Gecina and Club Méditerranée on the tender offer by Chinese conglomerate Fosun.

Legal 500 EMEA also recognizes Alexis for his expertise in restructuring as well as in the real estate sector. Top French and foreign developers and real estate listed companies rely on Alexis to provide strategies on their corporate operations, notably regarding capital increases and the negotiation of sale purchase agreements.

Alexis additionally pursues a variety of compliance and governance matters.

Alexis Marraud des Grottes started his career as an associate at French premier boutique Rambaud Martel, which merged with Orrick’s global platform in 2006. In 2007, he was a resident lawyer in Orrick’s San Francisco and New York offices, and was appointed partner in Orrick’s Paris office in 2011. He previously had experience at the Conseil des marchés financiers (now the French Financial Market Authority, AMF), Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier and Ernst & Young Valuation Department.

Alexis has hosted numerous conferences and trainings on securities, corporate and takeover laws and lectures seminars at Paris Law School (EFB) and at the business school EM Lyon.
