Joe Roger co-leads Orrick's global Energy & Infrastructure sector. He focuses his practice on energy and infrastructure transactions, advising a broad range of clients on mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital investments, and project development. Joe has significant experience across the energy and infrastructure sector, including oil & gas, power generation, data centers, energy transition, and energy infrastructure. He regularly represents energy companies, project developers, private equity funds, and services companies, among others.
As global demand for energy and energy security continues to rise and governments, investors and consumers continue to support the decarbonization of the energy industry, he has developed a particular focus on advising large multinational energy companies on energy transition issues, including in connection with renewable energy projects and innovations in conventional energy. He is a key member of Orrick’s energy transition practice, which was recognized as Band 1 in Energy Transition by Chambers USA (2023-2026).
He is also active in the data center industry, representing a variety of participants in the development of data centers, the development of new power generation facilities, gas transportation and supply arrangements, and carbon capture and sequestration.
Joe is recognized by Chambers Global (2023-2026), Chambers USA (2021-2026), The Legal 500 (2018-2026) and Super Lawyers - Rising Stars (2014-2021) for his work on energy transactions.
