Johannes Niegemann focuses on advising on real estate law aspects of corporate transactions. His practice includes in particular due diligence, drafting and negotiating all real estate related contracts and documents as well as litigation.

He primarily advises international investors and project developers on the acquisition, development, financing and use of properties in the logistics, care, parking, commercial and residential sectors, as well as on the sale of such properties. This also includes legal support in asset management and legal disputes. In particular, his work also comprises risk assessment in the real estate sector for M&A transactions.

Prior to joining Orrick as an Associate, Johannes worked as a research assistant in the real estate practice group and completed his doctorate on white-collar crime in the real estate sector. He is very familiar with the ever-increasing demands in the transaction area with regard to the know-your-customer principle and is an integral part of the advisory service.

As part of a longer secondment, Johannes Niegemann also worked as legal counsel for the German subsidiary of a Chinese corporate group, which is why he is familiar with both the challenges in companies and the customs in Chinese business life and can therefore provide targeted and efficient advice
