Kathryn Kuethman is a Managing Associate in the Financial & Securities Litigation group in Orrick's New York office.
Kathryn represents corporations and individuals in complex, high-stakes litigation in federal and state courts nationwide. She guides clients through every stage of litigation—from pre-suit strategy and negotiations to trial and appeal—drawing on broad experience with pre-suit demands, motions to dismiss, fact and expert discovery, summary judgment, trial preparation, trial and appellate briefing. Kathryn has handled a wide variety of commercial disputes across industries including financial services, technology, healthcare and energy, with experience in securities class actions, fiduciary duty matters, white collar investigations, breach of contract cases, bankruptcy litigation and mass torts.
In addition to her commercial practice, Kathryn is an active contributor to Orrick’s pro bono initiatives.
Before joining Orrick, Kathryn was a litigation associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and White & Case LLP in New York, representing clients in a broad range of complex disputes.
During law school, Kathryn served as a research assistant, was a student editor and competitor for Columbia’s Williams Institute Moot Court team, and completed an externship with the Domestic Violence Bureau of the Queens District Attorney’s Office.
