  • Raghav Krishnapriyan joins our IP litigation practice, bringing a strong record advising clients in the tech and life sciences sectors.
  • Raghav has litigated all kinds of IP related matters, from pharmaceutical patent cases to founder disputes to privacy class actions, as well as cases involving organic chemistry, computer software and video games.
  • He joins from Morrison & Foerster and previously practiced with Durie Tangri. He will be based in San Francisco.
  • This hire follows the firm’s addition last year of a 4-partner team focused on life sciences IP from Milbank in Southern California.

“I’m thrilled to reunite with Raghav, who is one of the most spectacularly talented lawyers I’ve practiced with,” said Clem Roberts, co-head of our IP litigation practice who previously worked with Raghav at Durie Tangri. “He has a unique ability to develop the legal framework necessary to win a case. We’re fortunate to add him as a partner who furthers our strength in defending the strategic innovations of our tech and life sciences clients.”

“Orrick’s elite IP litigation platform, including in the Life Sciences space, and its focus on holistic solutions for tech and life sciences companies provide a perfect opportunity for me to grow my practice,” Raghav said. “I’m thrilled to join Clem and the rest of the team and help our clients achieve the best outcomes when they are protecting their innovations in court.”

Raghav clerked for Judge Jane Kelly of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and U.S. District Judge James Donato in the Northern District of California. He holds a dual degree in chemistry and economics and recently helped secure a $178 million patent infringement verdict for a Bay Area pharmaceutical client.

American Lawyer recently named Orrick a finalist for 2023 IP Litigation Department of the Year.
