Orrick announced today that Joe Urwitz has joined the firm as a partner in its Compensation & Benefits practice, based in Boston. Joe is the 8th partner to join Orrick’s corporate team since January 2021. He joins the firm from McDermott Will & Emery.
“Joe is a trusted advisor to clients on a range of sophisticated benefits and compensation matters across many disciplines. He’s a great addition to our team and will be a critical asset supporting our Finance, M&A, and other core practices,” said Juliano Banuelos, leader of Orrick’s Compensation & Benefits Group.
Joe advises clients in the private equity, technology and healthcare industries on executive compensation and employee benefits issues, often within the context of sophisticated M&A, private equity and capital markets transactions. He also provides counsel on Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) fiduciary and other matters, deferred compensation arrangements, equity award and bonus plan design, employment and severance arrangements, and pension plan work. Joe is recognized for his compensation and benefits work by Chambers USA and Legal 500 US.
