Orrick’s Real Estate and Public Finance teams advised Rosemawr Management, an alternative investment management firm focused on investing in the municipal market, on the $454 million acquisition and related financing of a portfolio of 47 charter schools across 20 jurisdictions from Educational Capital Solutions, an affiliate of EPR Properties.
“This was a very intricate transaction. Coupled with the sheer number of assets, it required a unified and diligent effort among our Public Finance and Real Estate teams,” said Eugene Clark-Herrera. “We are delighted to have been part of Rosemawr’s major investment in the charter school sector.” added Marshall Brozost.
In addition to Eugene, Alison Radecki and Nik Mathews advised on this deal, which included complex financing components. The Real Estate team, which included Marshall, Nicole Walsh, Jonathan Roheim, Robin Freedman, Taylor Moustris, Tatyanna Senel, Cristine LeVasser, Jon Mandel, Jasmine Tzeng, David Burkhart, Sharlene Alim and Steven Truong, advised on the real estate aspects of the transaction.
