Orrick Tech Team Advises Carsharing Leader Getaround, Inc. on $300M Acquisition of Europe-based Drivy SAS

Orrick’s global M&A and Private Equity and Technology Companies Group (TCG) teams advised carsharing pioneer Getaround on its recent $300 million acquisition of Drivy, the largest and fastest-growing carsharing platform in Europe.

With the acquisition of Paris-based Drivy, Getaround now has a presence in 300 cities in the U.S. and Europe, making it the world’s leading carsharing marketplace with more than five million users. The deal expands Getaround’s international reach into France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium and the U.K.

The international Orrick team was led by M&A partners Mark Seneca (Silicon Valley) and Ben Cichostepski (Paris), together with Silicon Valley partners Stephen Venuto, co-head of the firm’s TCG practice, and Joseph Perkins.  Steve has guided Getaround’s growth since its inception. The Orrick team also included Laura Bloxham, Hélène Daher, Karl Ehrenberg, Florent Lewkowicz, Daniel Lopez, Brigid McCurdy, Michael Ruiz, Leo Theillac and a larger global group of attorneys and paralegals.
