DraftKings CEO Jason Robins was interviewed at
TechCrunch’s Disrupt SF 2016 conference. During the interview, Jason spoke highly of Orrick’s representation of the fantasy sports industry in its efforts to secure passage of legislation legalizing daily fantasy sports. Led by
Jeremy Kudon, a partner in our New York office and founder of the firm’s Public Policy group, the Orrick team crafted a state-by-state strategy to persuade legislators around the country to regulate the industry.
In the interview, Jason cited the importance of Jeremy’s role, noting that he “really over the last eight months has helped us go from a tech company that didn’t know a whole lot about legislative affairs and regulation to really being sophisticated there.” He also praised the Orrick team, adding, “For anyone who’s in a disruptive industry and might be regulated, they really did a fantastic job. We had really, I think, an unprecedented run in state legislatures over the last six or seven months.”
